Set Design
About Me.
I have always loved exploring; from books, to film, to the stage. The magic that film has to transport us into new worlds has always inspired me. Space is a character, a character which builds the foundations of stories. By designing these spaces, I am given the ability to create new realities we can only dream of.
When I was younger, I made my sister her dream doll house for her birthday out of materials I found around the house. After that, I couldn’t stop creating, and I kept adding on to the house until it became a city. I had a craft room out in the garage where I spent every free moment. I distinctly remember thinking while sitting out there in my little sanctuary, “I wish I could do this for the rest of my life.”
Little did I know that I would get to pursue that dream when I went to Baylor University and started designing sets a little bit bigger than dollhouses. I am a double major in Film and Theatre Design with goals of working as a set designer. With a love for learning and a passion for creating, I seek to celebrate the human connection we feel to the spaces we inhabit and the spaces we dream, and to convey the sense of a space by capturing its fleeting magic.
